During my internship at Bioracer I had to opportunity to work on a project with Sioen. A textile company in Belgium who came to Bioracer with the question if they could incorporate an airbag in cycling gear.

After communicating with the client and discussing the project with my mentor we defined a solution space. A cycling bib-short that incorporates an airbag system in a way that considers the thermal aspects and mobility range during cycling.

This concept was the result of 5 weeks of research and concept design. After which the prototyping fase started. In this I learned how to work with fabrics, together with the pattern designer and head seamstress at Bioracer, I then created the pro bib-short air.
